Eugene Ritchie was a veteran who sought medical care at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington. He exhibited classic signs of cancer, but his diagnosis was ignored. He died a very painful death of Metastatic bone cancer.

Mehr Fairbanks Trial Lawyers filed a complaint in United States District Court against the V.A. Medical Center for negligence. After a three (3) day trial, Judge Karl Forester awarded $500,000.00 for pain and suffering and approximately $300,000 for lost earning capacity.
